McCormickCo Security breaks down the price barrier to compliance with free support tool for Microsoft InTune
The public sector can now take another leap forward in accessing affordable protection and compliance with the introduction of a free tool for Microsoft InTune Compliance.
Microsoft Intune is a cloud-based service that focuses on mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM). Widely used by public sector organisations to manage the use of the thousands of devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops, on their networks, the service allows for the creation of specific policies that administrators can use to control applications and prevent device misuse. Compliance policies can be created for specific platforms, devices, groups of users or systems.
While this flexibility can give administrators peace of mind that they are helping their users to keep their organisations secure, the monitoring of these polices can be incredibly time-consuming and complex.
To support organisations in carrying out this important work, McCormickCo Security, the company quickly gaining a reputation as the public sector’s cybersecurity and compliance support system, has created the tool, DSPT View® Intune Compliance.
Unlike other support tools which can cost as much as £10,000 to use, DSPT View® Intune Compliance is available at no charge, giving administrators a clear view of device security and compliance within their tenants, without any additional financial pressure.
McCormickCo Security’s tool uses Microsoft Power BI to provide extensive insight into customers’ vulnerabilities and risks, encompassed in one easy to understand report. This means that anyone within the organisation can understand their security posture and administrators can gain detailed breakdowns of:
· Total number of devices enrolled
· Operating System and Versions
· Make and Models enrolled within Intune
· Cellular and Carrier Name
· Supervised Status
· Device Encryption Status
· Enrolled devices by last seen
The tool also provides a detailed report for remediation, helping stretched cybersecurity teams to apply their time and skills where they’re most needed. This is invaluable for those required to undertake the annual DSPT assessment which requires the completion of 10 national data guardian standards in the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, each of which has a number of Assertions to work through. Two of particular importance are the 8.2.1 which requires organisations to produce a list of unsupported software prioritised according to business risk, with a remediation plan against each item, and 9.5 which calls for evidence that a data security improvement plan has been put in place on the basis of an assessment and has been approved by the SIRO.
With only a few months to go until the DSPT submission date, the introduction of DSPT View® Intune Compliance into organisations’ security toolkit could make the difference between a smooth and straightforward journey to full compliance and potential fines.
DSPT View® Intune Compliance is based on McCormickCo Security’s flagship platform DSPT View®, which supports organisations’ submission of The Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT). It is the only tool on the market which provides near to real-time unparalleled insight into an organisation’s security posture, as well as clear guidance on how to improve it to meet regulations and stay secure.
